In Slovenia, granaries used to be an important part of farms. Most often, a granary was a stand-alone wooden or brick house or a special room in the house intended for storing grain and other crops.
A granary had a strong door as it had to protect against fire, pests and thieves.
The Košir Granary stands a little raised above the yard in front of the house of the Košir Farm in the hamlet of Suhi Dol near Šentjošt above Horjul.
